If you want to see how they did things “back in the day” make a visit to Cascade Locks in the Columbia River Gorge. This weekend of June 28-29 is Sternwheeler days. There is a rendezvous there on the old locks “island” where there will be 3-5 blacksmiths plying their trade, as well as folks showing off and selling 1800’s clothing and other things in the encampment. Good food, too. See you there.
